Together for Clean Water: A Life-Changing Borehole for the Community

The above pictures show the problem as the only source of water in the community is from the River Volta. There is no access to potable drinking water, resulting in outbreak of water borne diseases affecting children most. Children would have to carry water from the River to school every day for drinking.

This also affected health service delivery because of no readily available and accessible potable water for service delivery.

The game changer is when Nane Heritage Foundation partnered with Stichting Their Voice and Wilde Ganzen Foundation to provide the community with one borehole to solve the issue of water challenges faced by the community.

Restoring Healthcare Access in Anidzi Community

Anidzi is a deprived village in the Kwahu Afram Plains North District of the Eastern Region of Ghana with a population of over 2000. It is a historic community that has existed for centuries, with significant historical evidence. The community plays a crucial role in Ghana’s food production, as the inhabitants are primarily engaged in fishing and farming. Despite the community’s substantial contribution to Ghana’s GDP, it faces a lack of basic social amenities, such as a well-established health facility, accommodation for health staff, and access to potable water.

Through our efforts, various forms of support, both in cash and in kind, have been received from organizations such as USAID, Stichting Their Voice, Wilde Ganzen Foundation, the Hunger Project, and generous individuals, alongside significant contributions from the local community. With this overwhelming support, the community has made significant progress in upgrading its previously dilapidated health infrastructure, an infrastructure that for over a decade, had deterred health staff from accepting postings to the area. Though the health facility is not yet fully completed, it is accommodating health staff for provision of essential healthcare services to the community.

These components of the project (ceiling, painting, louvre windows, biodigester, and concrete apron) require urgent support to be fully completed. We invite individuals and benevolent organizations to join us in making a lasting impact on the lives of the community residents.
