ABOUT US — Nane Heritage Foundation (NHeF Ghana)
Nane Heritage Foundation (NHeF Ghana) is a non-governmental organization committed to improving health and well-being in underserved and vulnerable communities across Ghana. Established in 2024 and headquartered in Koforidua in the Eastern Region, we were founded on the belief that every individual—regardless of gender, location, or socio-economic status—deserves access to quality healthcare and the opportunity to live a healthy, fulfilling life.
We are driven by a mission to strengthen health systems, address disparities in healthcare access, and empower communities through sustainable, evidence-based initiatives. Our work prioritizes women’s health, environmental health, and early detection of non-communicable diseases (NCDs), recognizing these as critical pillars for long-term national development.
At NHeF Ghana, we work hand-in-hand with community leaders, health professionals, government agencies, and development partners to create lasting, measurable change. Through outreach programs, capacity-building, awareness campaigns, and innovative health interventions, we strive to close the gaps that limit access to essential healthcare services.
Our Mission
To advance the health and well-being of communities in deprived areas of Ghana by strengthening healthcare systems, addressing healthcare disparities, and prioritizing women’s health through evidence-based, results-driven approaches.
Our Vision
A society where optimal health and well-being are achieved through sustainable healthcare practices and proactive health management.
Our Focus Areas
Our programmes and projects are built around four core priorities that reflect the pressing health needs of Ghanaian communities:
Women’s Health
We deliver maternal and reproductive health initiatives aimed at improving health outcomes for women and girls. Our programs focus on education, screening services, maternal support, and empowering women to make informed health decisions.
Strengthening Healthcare Systems
We support and enhance local health systems through capacity-building, infrastructure support, community health worker engagement, and collaboration with local health facilities to improve service delivery.
Sustainable Healthcare & Medical Waste Management
We promote environmentally responsible healthcare practices, including safe medical waste disposal and education on environmentally friendly health practices to reduce pollution and protect community health.
NCD Surveillance & Prevention
Recognizing the rising burden of non-communicable diseases, we implement community-level screening, surveillance, and awareness programs focused on diabetes, hypertension, cancers, and other NCDs.
